The Philipsburg Jubilee Library (PJL) and Collective Prevention Services (CPS), Ministry of Public Health, Social Development, and Labor, officially launched their “OrganWise Guys” program on St. Maarten.
Library and CPS “OrganWise Guys” Program launched
“Organwise” is child-centered, educational program about healthy eating habits and taking care of your body. The program was introduced to St. Maarten in 2012 by CPS as a tool to promote healthy lifestyle at a young age.

The project brings the body to life by using puppets, made up of various organs in the body, to teach children of all ages what it means to live smart and healthy from the inside out. Aukje de Jong, the Program Facilitator representing the library, and Swinda Richardson, a Nutritionist at CPS, has been giving introductory lessons about the program at primary schools and afternoon schools since April 14, 2014.

Interested afterschool and primary school representatives, who would like to schedule an “OrganWise Guys” introductory lesson, can contact Aukje de Jong at the library at 542-2970 or by e-mail at organwise@stmaartenlibrary.org.
