Philipsburg Jubilee Library opened its doors in the temporary location above Adolphus Richardson on the Pond fill last Friday evening March 1, 2019. Present for this special occasion was the Minister of Education Culture Youth and Sports the Honorable Mr. Wycliff Smith
Library reopen at temporary location
The Minister and the Secretary-General Mrs. Shermina Powell-Richardson complimented the board and staff of the library with their efforts and wished them much success in their temporary location. The facility houses: a toddler and children section, the juvenile section with most of the exam books, an adult section, a national history section, a study room, and a computer lab. The library will be opened for the public from Monday, March 4, 2019, at 10:00 AM. The following services will be available: new membership applications and renewal of membership, assistance with electronic library membership “Libby”, borrowing and returning of books, facility to read local newspapers and magazines, computer/research services. The new location will enable the library to prioritize digital innovation. A grace period for overdue books will be given from March 4, 2019, until April 1, 2019. During these weeks’ clients with overdue books do not have to pay fines.
