Mary Romney keynote speaker for library’s African Diaspora Collection Launch

Mary Romney will be delivering the keynote address at the launch of Philipsburg Jubilee Library’s “Alice & Lionel Romney Memorial African Diaspora Collection”, this Thursday at 7 pm
The main purpose for this event is to officially launch the brand new collection of over 500 African Diaspora books and DVDs, graciously donated by Mary Romney, daughter of the late Alice & Lionel Romney.

Romney, the current assistant professor in the International Teaching Assistants Program (ITAP) at the University of Connecticut, has been working in the education field for over 25 years. The author and historian will give an overview of the collection and discuss the lives of her late, St. Maarten born parents, in whose name the collection will be dedicated.
