The Sint Maarten Library, with our dedication to providing excellent service to the community will host a four – pronged program, which will improve a child’s language, speech development, and concentration, all of which is geared to the children ages 0 to 4 years.
In observation of the September Literacy Month, the library will host the following activities for the Babies and Toddlers “Read to Me” campaign.
The Babies and Toddlers Read to Me” campaign, which began in 2009, is continuing with the assistance of the National Library of the Netherlands (Royal Library) and Biblionef.
Our purpose is to build and encourage early readers to start their reading journey.
The activities that the public can take part in during this campaign consist of
Boek Start Kofferjes
24 Day cares to receive one Boekstart Kits comprise a broad variety of age-appropriate books, educational tools, and engaging activities that will take place during the months of August and September and are targeted to preschool-aged children's specific interests and curiosities.

Ten Kits Sint Maarten Medical Center
The OBGYNE ward of Sint Maarten Medical Center will receive ten kits, which will be distributed to ten new parents.
Reading workshop & a story
The presenter will provide the importance of reading to your little ones to you the parents.

A unique Read to Me Dutch story reader will visit five daycares from August to September. Please your day care if they were one of the day cares that were visited.

Age: 2 to 3 (Toddlers)
Special library card promotion for babies and toddlers
All babies and toddlers will receive a library card free of charge and from the 21 of August until supplies last, they too receive a personal BoekStart kit.
