Call for Board Members
Help shape the future of a historic institution Since its founding on November 23, 1923, the Sint Maarten Library has been a cornerstone of our community, championing literacy, education and cultural preservation for more than a century.

Today, the library is entering an exciting new chapter. Together with the National Recovery Program Bureau (NRPB), we are building our “library of the future,” while continuing to strengthen our mission, vision and services. To guide the library through this important phase, we are looking for passionate, committed individuals to join our Board.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in finance, fundraising, project management, organizational development or education. Please note that board positions are voluntary and non-salaried.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
• Experience in finance, fundraising, project management, organizational development or
education
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent experience
• Board experience or a background in a managerial role (preferred)
• A high degree of integrity, dedication and responsibility
• A commitment to active participation in board activities and decision-making
• The ability to dedicate time and effort to support the library’s growth and success

This is a unique opportunity to help lead a historic institution through a pivotal moment in its development. If you are committed to making a lasting impact on the Sint Maarten community, we encourage you to apply.
HOW TO APPLY
Please send your motivation letter and résumé to drichardson@library.sx no later than November 16, 2026. We look forward to hearing from you!
