The Sint Maarten Library is pleased to announce the newest addition to its collection: “Alternatieve Feiten: Terugblik op het presidentschap van Donald Trump”, personally donated by the author Marco van den Doel.

Van den Doel, a noted expert on American politics, offers a concise yet insightful reflection on one of the most unconventional and controversial presidencies in modern U.S. history. In the book, he explores key themes from Donald Trump’s time in office; including immigration, the Russia investigation, impeachment, fake news, polarization, the COVID-19 crisis, and the storming of the Capitol, providing readers with a clear and accessible overview of an unprecedented political era.

An established Amerika-kenner (expert on USA), Marco van den Doel brings extensive academic and professional expertise to his work. He studied at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and holds a Master of Science in International Applied Communication from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, United Kingdom. He has closely followed U.S. elections since 1992 and previously published the 2010 book Barack Obama: Hoop en Verandering (on the 2008 Obama campaign).
