Summer Camp “Living out Loud Foundation” Visits Sint Maarten Library

A summer filled with laughter, fun, and excursions brought the young participants of the Living.

Out Loud Foundation Summer Camp on an exciting educational adventure at the Sint Maarten Library. The campers were welcomed for a special visit focused on introducing young learners to the importance of library services and the many opportunities available through reading and learning.

During the visit, campers received a guided tour of the library facility, where they learned how the library operates, the resources available, and how these resources can support their
educational journey and personal development. The young visitors were introduced to reference materials, including dictionaries and encyclopedias, and learned how these tools can assist with vocabulary development, research skills, and expanding their knowledge.

Library registration forms were provided for children ages 2 to 10, encouraging them to become active library members and develop lifelong reading habits. Through access to books, educational resources, and literacy programs, the Sint Maarten Library aims to nurture future avid readers and empower young community members to become informed and engaged contributors to society.

Library staff member F. Housen and Librarian M. Powell guided the educational tour and shared information about the library’s services. They encouraged the campers to make the library and
books part of their ongoing learning experience.

The Sint Maarten Library continues to welcome schools, summer camps, and community groups as part of its commitment to promoting literacy, lifelong learning, and community engagement.
