Membership

Get your library card and become a member of the Sint Maarten Library: members can borrow books and make use of the facilities and services at and outside the library.

Obtain your library card:

A card can be obtain the same day you start the procedure.
1 - An identity photo is required (passport sized picture).
2 - Please visit us.



Fees

Our government regulated fees for library cards are as follows:

Children (below 12 years):
— No Fee.
(Entitled to 4 items at a time)
Parents and/or guardians are responsible for the materials borrowed by their children and will have to sign an agreement to this effect.


High school students:
— Naf 10, - per year
+ One time registration fee of Naf 25,-
(Entitled to 6 items at a time)

Adults:
— Fee: Naf 25, - per year.
+ One time registration fee of Naf 25,-
(Entitled to 10 books at a time)

Teachers:
— Fee: Naf 25,- per year.
+ One time registration fee of Naf 50,-
(Entitled to 15 items at a time)
Items can be borrowed for classroom use or preparation of lessons.


Tourists & Non-residents:
— Fee: Naf 7,20 for one month or Naf 30,- every six months or part thereof.
+ Deposit of Naf 50,-
(Entitled to 3 items at a time, with minor restrictions)

Senior Citizen (60+ years old):
— Fee: one time registration fee of Naf 25,-
(Entitled to 10 items at a time)

Membership renewal

You will be asked to renew your library card once a year to make sure we have up-to-date contact information.
To renew your card, you need to show name and address identification to a staff member and pay a membership fee of Naf 25,-. (Less if you are a High school student, or for children).

Lost cards

If you are no longer in possession of your library card, you are required to bring a recent passport sized picture and a replacement fee of Naf 5,- will be charged. If at a later date you find your old card, you can't resume using it.
