New library returns to original opening hours Nov. 1

St. Maarten - As of November 1, 2019, Philipsburg Jubilee Library will return to its pre-Hurricane Irma opening hours. This return is to accommodate, in particular, students who need to access the library’s myriad of services. The time change will also benefit readers who have fixed working hours.

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library will be temporarily closed for staff training on the mornings of  Monday, September 23​rd​ & Monday, September 30​th​, 2019, until 1:00 pm. The library will re-open on said days from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

Senior Internet Classes are in demand at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library

— Senior Internet classes are in demand at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library and classes will commence as of September 6th, 2019.
The senior classes will be held in the Cyber room of the library every Friday morning and afternoon, starting September 6th, 2019 to December 20th, 2019, time:
9 am to 12.00 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm.

— It is almost summer vacation again and the Philipsburg Jubilee Library would like to notify the general public of its upcoming “Fun-Filled Summer Program” that is catering for primary and secondary students. One of the main objectives of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library has always been the promotion of a reading culture among the Sint Maarten Community and its youngsters.

On Wednesday, April 17th, 2019, it was a fun and crowded house when the Philipsburg Jubilee Library (PJL) hosted a story time and Easter egg hunt for thirty pupils ages 0-3 years at the new temporary location upstairs of the Adolphus Richardson Building # 3 W. J. A. Nisbeth Road.

After closing its doors almost three months ago and shutting away its treasure trove of books due to the hurricane-battered state of its building, Philipsburg Jubilee Library is reopening its doors on Monday, March 4, in a temporary location and with a vastly reduced number of titles.
