Mrs. Kay Philips, retired Oranjeschool principal and a relative of Ramon A. Sharpe was at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library to donate a number of copies of the author Ramon A. Sharpe’s book, entitled “The Dream”.

The Readers are Leaders club held a Christmas Special in the Philipsburg Jubilee Library just before Christmas that was a great success.

Staff of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library over the past two weeks have been providing training to library staff from the library of Bonaire, or the Bibliotheka Publiko Bonaire. Four staffers were sent to learn about all aspects of operations at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library is gearing up for this Christmas season with its Pre- Christmas Eve Market that will take place on Wednesday, the 23rd of December. This one will be sure to be a wondrous and merry event for all the family to enjoy.

During the past three weeks children below the age of six have been competing to win great prizes in the Philipsburg Jubilee Library’s coloring contest. This week the winners of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library coloring contest have been chosen. The lucky winners of this fun-packed contest were Leonie Ligtenberg in the category 0 to 2,

It’s about that time of year and the Readers are Leaders club are celebrating this Christmas in style. A Readers are Leaders Christmas Special will be held in the Philipsburg Jubilee Library on December 22nd. The fun takes off at 5:00 pm with lots of Christmas caroling and Story Telling for teens.

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library is extending its Babies and Toddlers Campaign for a longer period to incorporate a grand coloring contest for small children in the coming weeks.

This Friday at 7 pm a mini symposium will be held in the Philipsburg Jubilee Library in honor of the anniversary of the independence of Suriname. Suriname became an independent country on November 25th, 1975 and this year will mark the fortieth anniversary of its independence.

Starting Tuesday, the 17th of November 2015, through Saturday, the 21st of November, the library will be hosting various events around its Baby and Toddler program. Entry to the events will be free of charge. All parents of toddlers and babies are invited to come with their children to the fun-packed activities, especially for the little ones and their parents
