The Philipsburg Jubilee Library in close collaboration with Rotary Sunrise St. Maarten is participating in 2018 “ Be the change SXM DOET Project” under the team DOET Project Library on Saturday March 10th, 2018 from 8 am to 5pm.

On Saturday February 24th, 2018, 14 students of the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) hosted as part of their Community Action Day the “Body Smaart” program activity.
The Body Smaart program engages the children of St. Maarten Community in activities that includes fresh air exercise, heath, and a walk through of their anatomy.

Information services Manager of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library, Irmin Hughes- Richards celebrated her 40th years of services to the library on Wednesday 13th February 2018.
Irmin Hughes Richards fulfilled many roles from Circulation and Book Mobile Clerk; Circulation Supervisor; Assistant Librarian; Human Resource Officer; Member of the Management Team and currently Information Services Manager.

“The Philipsburg Jubilee Library adjusted their opening hours”

— The Philipsburg Jubilee Library would like to announce a change in its opening hours for 2018.
In order to facilitate general staff meetings, the Library will now open at 10.00 am on Mondays instead of 9.00 am. So as of Monday, February 5th, 2018, the library will be open on Mondays from 10 am to 5 pm and from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and on Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm

Aid for children with Post-hurricane trauma

According to United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF, all children in St. Maarten are traumatised by the passing of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017. To assist children in processing these traumas, social worker from Curaçao Guineta de Palm will be working in St. Maarten for the next three months.

Successful for Christmas Market 2017 @ the Philipsburg Jubilee Library

the annual Christmas Market hosted by the Philipsburg Jubilee Library on December 21st, 2017, was a huge success.
The Christmas Market hosted 28 booth holders. Past & present booth holders came out with new original ideas and incentives adding to create a greater market for 2017 and promises to return in 2018.

— On Saturday, November 4th, the Philipsburg Jubilee Library had an amazing book sale. Your local library was able to raise NAF 733.62 throughout the day during its annual book sale. The funds raised will be used for new materials and activities hosted by the library.
